He was licensed at the age of seventeen and ordained at the age of twenty-six under the dynamic leadership of his father, The Rev. Moses Elijah Freeman Jr. He has since traveled nationally and internationally ministering and leaving in his wake changed lives, mended relationships, and renewed hope.
His intellectual understanding of scripture, combined with a passion for God and God’s people, affords him the unique ability to blend Sunday morning power with Monday through Saturday practical principles for living.
Bishop Freeman completed his undergraduate work at the University of Florida, earned a masters degree, with a concentration in Theological Ethics, from Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary and completed postgraduate work at Cornell University in Executive Leadership (CEL).
The Most Reverend Eric J. Freeman stands as an apostolic influence and covering for numerous churches and ministries in Kenya, Africa – having conducted meetings and hence gaining ministerial influence therein. Illustrative of this fact is that under his leadership the International Fellowship of Meeting Place Churches has planted its first church in Eldoret, Kenya.
Furthermore, Bishop Freeman’s proven innovative effectiveness in spreading the gospel through electronic ministry and social media has made him a world leader in social media ministry. His online ministry accesses remote regions of the world and as a result he now has more than 50,000 people following him in Kenya, 17,000 in Indonesia and 15,000 in the Philippines. More than 90,000 subscribers listen to his sermons on Reverbnation. And, he has been blessed with a worldwide following of over 100,000 on Facebook.
Through crusades and the use of various digital platforms and facilitators, Bishop Freeman, with the undergirding support of The International Fellowship of Meeting Place Churches, reached the milestone of personally praying for more than 500,000 people in the year 2011.
He has been married for more than twenty years to the former Miss Coleen Angela McLennon, and they are the proud parents of one daughter, Tyné Angela – a student a Dartmouth College, and one son, Jordane Ericson – a college preparatory student at St. Paul’s School in Concord, NH.
He is a member of numerous civic organizations to include The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated. And, he is the pastor and founder of The MEETING Place Church International in Columbia, SC, USA and the International Fellowship of MEETING Place Churches.
