Our Founder - Bishop Eric J. Freeman

Leadership

Bishop Eric J. Freeman is a Christian cleric and episcopal servant in the Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries. He is the pastor and founder of The Meeting Place Church of Greater Columbia in Columbia, South Carolina. Under the leadership of Bishop Freeman, this transformational congregation oversees a 23-acre, 215,000-square-foot ministry complex, boasting (Psalm 34:2) a full-service banquet and conference center, a renal care facility, the state headquarters for the NAACP South Carolina State Conference, professional counseling services, a 10,000-watt radio station Columbia's Praise WDEK 95.7 FM & 1170 AM, an eight-screen first-run movie cineplex, community center, and sanctuary.

A graduate of the University of Florida, Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, and Cornell University's Executive Leadership Program, Freeman is esteemed by many as a once-in-a-generation "thinker" and proclaimer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. His ministry gift has reached every state in the United States of America and more than 27 countries on five continents.

Bishop Freeman is a Ph.D. candidate in Homiletics and Ethics at the Clamp Divinity School, Anderson University. He's also a life member and executive board member of the South Carolina District of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Freeman and his wife Coleen are the proud parents of two young adult children.
