Community Spotlight: Dr. Kimberly Johnson
How did you first learn about TMPC, and what compelled you to join?
I learned about TMPC through a community event they were doing for a women's shelter. I donated clothes and decided to come to Bible study, and the word was directly for my situation. I was not going to church due to what was occurring in my life, but I could not run from His calling, and He brought me to The Meeting Place.
What has been your favorite TMPC community moment so far?
So many!!! I've enjoyed our Health Fairs, Family and Friends Day, Brunch fellowship, and Sunday School. These all give us an opportunity to connect, fellowship, and just enjoy each other's company.
How has the concept of community factored into your story of navigating life's challenges and growing in faith?
The concept of community factors into my story because Bishop was the first person to know that I was pregnant with my daughter Karington. I was ashamed, and he covered me instantaneously. My church family has been our village, and I never had to worry about who was caring for her before, during, or after service because my church family loved and took care of us!
If you could invite someone outside of the church to experience our community, what would you hope they take away?
The love they feel from the members! I also believe they will obtain a Word that can change their lives. And I want them to know that there is a place for them here at The Meeting Place
And lastly, how can the TMPC community be lifting you in prayer?
I am praying about the expansion of The Healing Truth brand (Book & Podcast). I want to make sure that I say and do what God will have me to, and go where he wants me to go. Also, navigating being a single mom: I pray that I and the husband God has for me nurture, love, and support my daughter the way she needs to become who God has called her to be.
